Mac Junker has a strong love for the outdoors and a natural skill for the indoors. Although she spends much of her personal time enjoying country life, by business day she is a valued designer who has been with The Kitchen Specialist for nearly a decade. Mac works in tandem with homeowners to craft spaces that reflect personal styles and increase their overall home-life productivity. By simplifying the entire design process with clear communication and partnership, she helps ease her client’s minds from beginning to end. Mac’s goal is to provide homeowners with soul-nourishing spaces using products and materials which will also enhance their home’s value. Mac is the first designer of the firm to hold a coveted CKBD certification through the National Kitchen & Bath Association. She stays active with the NKBA and served as a judge for both the regional Carolina Chapter Student Design Competition and the National Design Competition held at their headquarters in New Jersey. “I deeply value the comfort and happiness of my design guests, and those values are reflected in each of the partnerships I create with them.”

Mary Leigh McDonald, a graduate of the CIDA-accredited interior design program at Meredith College joined The Kitchen Specialist team in April 2016 after years of working as an interior designer in Raleigh. Utilizing her strong background in art and design, Mary Leigh strives to create spaces that are aesthetically pleasing as well as cohesive and functional. Extensive space planning and collaboration with her clients ensure the end result is a beautiful space expertly tailored to their specific needs and wishes.

Jennifer is a senior designer at The Kitchen Specialist. With 15 years experience and a CKD, coupled with an eye for detail, she creates beautiful, flexible and highly functional spaces. Her main priority is providing a clear and transparent process during the design phase and following up with quality product and installation. She relies on a team of experienced craftsmen/women to assure a refined finished product and seamless installation. By closely listening to her client’spriorities and needs, not only are those refined spaces functional and aesthetically pleasing, but they are planned with home value and budget in mind. Kitchen and bath design should be exploratory and rewarding with the final product a combined effort of the homeowner and the designer. Jennifer values her clients input and looks forward to creating unique living spaces to meet their lifestyle.

Leigh Patel’s love for fine design, elegant materials, and appreciation for fine craftsmanship led her to acquire The Kitchen Specialist. As the owner, Leigh’s focus is to ensure that the clients get an unparalleled experience in each of their interactions with our team. Leigh leans on her corporate experience in project management and customer service to ensure that we remain focused on our goal of making our client’s dream spaces a reality.
